Crystal kifu - complete (2nd attempt)

Kifu is when they use uza to smash you into a box that's smaller than you are and then they seal it by putting it in a furnace and then they leave you in there for twenty years.

Sculpture. (Lige)
Re/ kifu:

Yegads! Who in the hell came up with *that* ????

Somebody needed a hug *that* day, jeez!

Re/ sculpture:

This thing is so beautiful, I don't quite get why you're making a further attempt at anything other than auctioning it off on eBay and making a name and a living for yourself.....
But, that's just me. An inner sculptor named Skeet, is saying something about, you might be doing it for the sake of the art itself, and it has nothing to do with survival.

I don't know. This is *really* beautiful, though.
I hope we get to see some further work of yours in this medium.

I made a second attempt because the first time it didn't give the right impact. I really hope it didn't look like I was fishing for compliments or something because I wasn't.

I want to, someday. I'm working on a Behance page.

But there are still things I need.
A larger body of work with a similar style.
To go around to galleries and try to get shows.
To be able to talk better about what it all means.

It didn't look like you were fishing for compliments...or anything else.

And we hope you get what you need, and your work turns up in galleries.

I tried the survival thing. What I said once about being ashamed about not being able to support myself till I was 21? That was when I tried to make it freelance. It doesn't pay enough. It's worked much better for survival to get a regular job.

Re/ regular job:

Highly agreed.

We just have this frame of reference around our income being low. (Seasonal farm work; housecleaning/restaurant work; and the worst of all, a "fixed" income.) So we've always looked to our writing/art/song lyrics, as some hope of breaking out of that.

I guess that's called, *better* survival. Being one of the 'working poor', sucked. Being one of the 'poor disabled', sucks out loud.

Three cheers for talent and education....

Re: Sculpture. (Lige)
And social skills. I know a couple people who do make it as freelance creative types, and their talent is only mediocre. What they have is a healthy dose of narcissism, and they go around networking, touting their work to everyone under the sun.

I know the dream though. You have to do what you're good at in order to get into a job track that eventually leads out of the low income trap.

One thing I've been wondering--how big is the sculpture?

About 8 inches high, maybe a foot long at the base.

Off topic... do you ever listen to Juno Reactor? I've been meaning to mention it for a while because for some reason, the music reminds me of y'all.

Crystal kifu - complete (2nd attempt)
I'm confused. It's a sculpture? But it looks like a person! Like I thought the pictures were from a play...

Also, pyraxis, I'm sorry. I think you're CRAZYAWESOME and have been really fail at getting to know you(s?) better. Will make more efforts in the future (if you don't mind).

Heya you. I remember something about a table making a table making a table?

Yes I want to know you. Your icon alone... does it have a story?

I definitely don't mind. I think I pinged your journal a long time ago, when 47 first told me about you, but when you didn't answer, I thought you either must not be around much or weren't interested in talking. I like your outlook though, at least as it's reflected in your writing.

Thanks! I like watching people's progress on projects too, 'cause it lets you learn how they did it.
