Government-funded transgender ad campaign that's going to be coming out in DC, USA, in fall and winter 2012.

Full-body photo of an ambiguously gendered person in a men's shirt and tie, with breasts and female hips, and the caption text below.

Some think I should dress more like a woman. Some think I should dress more like a man. I may not fit some ideas about gender, and I am a proud part of DC.

Please treat me the same way any person would want to be treated: with courtesy and respect.

Discrimination based on gender identity and expression is illegal in the District of Columbia. If you think you've been the target of discrimination, visit www.ohr.dc.gov or call (202) 727-4559.

More variations on the ad here.

I hope it spreads. I kind of wonder if it's an election year thing, but I don't even care if it is, this kind of thing needs to happen more.

Ze's America's version of Hannah Gadsby?

I don't believe it. No one could possibly be as legendary as H.G. is!

Haha, they do kinda look similar. I think the people in the ads are ordinary people from the city though rather than famous figures.

Heh well I suppose ordinary people are more PC in an advertisement like this. But Hannah Gadsby is Ultra Groovy even if she is also famous :-D
